Take Out that Silencer

This is for anyone that wants to take out their air silencer and give their cl a little roar.

STEP 1
Locate your intake box and take the top half off and take out the air filter. The top is held by 4 8mm screws.

STEP 2
In the pic below you can see one of the 2 10mm bolts that you need to remove. The second bolt is down between the battery and the intake. You will need a long extension to get to it.

This is what it should look like once you remove the filter box.

STEP 3
Now turn your wheel all the way to the left and take out the bottom 2 screws that hold the plastic lining. Also remove as many of the plasitc clips that you need to to pull back the lining I only need to remove 3 of them.

STEP 4
After that pull back the lining and look straight thought where you pull it back from and you should be able to see a 10mm bolt. Remove it. Also if you look in where that u-shaped tube is there is a 10mm bolt there too.

Step 5
Once those are removed wiggle the whole thing back and forth because there is a bolt towards the front but you dont have to remove it. the box snaps on to the bolt.

STEP 6
This part is up to you on how you take it out. I separtated the U-shape tube from the box at the bottom. Them took the box out from the fender well and then took the tube up through the engine compartment.

STEP 7
Put it back together

I hope that this has help everyone.

so essentially all you're doing is removing the air filter box and the thing behind the bumper in front of the tire? i want to do this while I wait for my cai to get here, but I don't want to screw anything up...

if you want,do a newer DIY version and post it, it would help everyone, as this one is outdated.

This is also written up in the CAI diy guide, it shows with pictures how to do it, just replace the top part of the box, personally I don't think this mod is worth the time, just put in a CAI
