You're better off getting it prepainted, but if you don't have a wing and need the holes drilled, you're better off paying more to a body shop to let them do it

i got mine oem and painted from ebay for 110 shipped, drilled they holes myself its easy as hell for gods sakes the holes are already marked on the inside of the trunk for oem wings... took me 3 hours to change the trunk springs though, but very worth it to have the trunk open with the button and actually stay open and propped up (without a 2 by 4 lol).

that imitation oem one always looked smaller than the oem one to me, makes it look wierd.

So, if you don't have the spoiler and add one on you also have to change the springs, is that right?

When I got my CL the trunk wouldn't stay up on a slight incline. I thought maybe the wings was bondo'd and the stock springs handle the wing, but its sounding like I have to get different springs for the lid.

Correct, you need bigger springs for the wing

Any suggestions so that it won't take me this long to change the springs?

Yeah, I spoke with the dealer and they said they had a tool that made it easier. They only charge one hour labor to do it so I'm just going to pay them. If I was going to use the tool more than once I would consider buying it.
