Ok, does the new accord come with a 3.0? If it does why wouldn't things made for this engine fit our cars? Tranny, intakes, headers, ect..... What do you guys think?

 

different engine? isn't it k series? or is that just the rsx.

 

1997-1999 3.0CL = J30A1 designation
1998-2002 Accord V6 = J30A1 designation

2003+ Accord V6 = J30A4 designation

The J30A4 block is shorter than the J30A1 and has the exhaust manifold built into the block (no aftermarket headers--however, I'm sure there will be an aftermarket B-pipe available).

 

So the shorter block made the extra hp?

 

The extra HP comes from a bump in compression, better (more aggressive) cams, and better exhaust flow.

 

So technically couldn't you swap those cams onto our engine, or am I missing something here?

 

Think you can swap the cams. I read conversations about it on www.v6performance.net but I'm not sure if someone has done the swap.

Nope, the cams are un swapable. The cl-s cams are the only cams that can be swapped.

 

So how much bump in hp do you get from the CL-S cams?

 

Not sure maybe 15-20hp. With tuning prolly more.

 

Is that a hard swap?

Basically, you need to have the cam machined so it will fit. You will need all the specs in order to do this.
