Supercharged at last! (upd w/pics)
(Sorry for stealing the spotlight Casper! )
Yes folks, it is installed in my 3.0CL!
SC: Comptech SC for 98 Accord
Installed: Jens of PAA
Cost: $1275
Tranny Precautions:
Redline ATF
B&M 70255 Tranny Cooler
Magnefine Inline trans oil filter
A number of things had to be modified/rerouted.
From talking with Jens, the following needed to be done:
battery tray trimmed
re-route powersteering line(battery tray won't fit in the area otherwise)
no access to fuel pump without removing the entire fuel tank
rerouted some AC lines
My initial impression was that it didn't seem to give me that M-car type acceleration, but it is smooth. Puched it a few times no tranny problem so far. I probably won't waste $$ on dyno'ing it. But for those in the northeast, I will be going to the "Englishtown Acura Wars" on 11/16, so you can see the car there if u want.

This is one of the biggest mistakes FI guys make.
How on earth do you know what a/f ratio your running at?
Initial tuning is the only thing that has kept my car alive...
Just my $.02...Good luck

I'll try to answer all the above questions:
First, I always wanted the SC even before I got the car. I remember Acura had CL which was supercharged by their R&D. They raced it against an NSX and it won, although the magazine reported otherwise. Nos was out of the question since I didn't want something that has to be refilled, hell I hate having to pay for gas .
I got the kit for less than $3900 , labor was $1275. Considering that an Accord install, which the SC was meant for, costs ~$800, I didn't mind paying the extra for a very nice custom job.
The SC itself will bolt on to the engine without problems, it's the stuff around the engine which needs to get moved around/rerouted. The icebox fits well, I didn't see anything that required extra work.
The SC doesn't seem to do too much at low rpms(then again, I've been babying much of the starts), but like the headers you feel a stronger pull at high rpms(> 3000).
I plan on adding an a/f guage & boost gauge. Rough g-tech 0-60 time was 6.8 secs, about 0.6 sec improvement. Need to repeat tests. Not dramatic for the amt paid, but TRD's supercharged Solara runs about the same at similar boost levels. The hard part of getting it in is over, I'm hoping CT will release extra boost pulleys in the future when they complete the kits for the CL/TL-P.
Maybe I'll dyno it. Just don't feel like spending $$ for that.
I will definitely run it at Englishtown Acura Wars, I'll try to run against some CLS, a regular CL, and maybe my friends '95 M3 .
Will update u guys as I drive it more.

ENGAGE MY VTEC BABY!!!!!!
hey man i like it a lot, so overall how much was the whole thing including the upgrades you had to do in order for the engine to run properly? what needed to be done and what still needs to be done in order for you to have fun with it and not blow anything?
where is PAA? did you get a deal on the sc? or you just wanted to do it? and i wish i had the money to do that same but overall, gas mpg? and get a vafc and tune in the engine a little better and get your fuel correction the best you can run and take the advice and get ti dynoed so you can see the inprovement and get the vafc so you can adjust you a/f and make the car a little smoother. keep us posted.

So to confirm that's the 98-99 Accord SC, not the 00-02 one? Need any other parts? I found a place in town here that'll install for $1000-1500 (ballpark figure) in about three days. Now just to keep enough napkins around for my drooling...

O.G.
So you're the one with the SC first generation CL. I was at PAA last week and I was talking to Wayne and he told me some guy just dropped in a SC to his 1st gen CL. I was like !
So congrats and let us see some #s!

Sweet. Hope you have lots of fun with your cL. Thought was crossing my mind as to wether or not i would ever try to install the CT SC on my cL. Just might try it within the next couple of months. Keep us posted on your car and if your run into any major problems.

Looks like there going to be some new product out for us this year!! Might not need to replace the battery from the looks of the design.

"How do you spend 6G on this thing and not want to spend an extra $50 bucks to see what you paid for? "
The answer is I'm cheap like that!
Its a min $100 in the metro NY area for dyno-time. I could buy some new indiglo gauges on ebay with that money or put that money towards an exhaust system(which will probably be next).
Seriously though, the only thing that matters to me at the end of the day is how the car performs against other cars. If I can't keep up(or pass) a CL-S, I would be somewhat disappointed.

On top of that I have the peace of mind that I'm not running lean and killing my engine. The 3.0 is even more expensive to replace than the 2.2.

How on earth do you expect the stock fuel system with X psi from a supercharger? Its going to need more fuel somehow.
They all should at least have a rising rate fuel regulator and inline fuel pump.
Then again people put n2o on all the time without adding fuel.
Its a free world, do what you want.
I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade...just offering my help.
