Sunroof Problem... Suggestions???

My sunroof is craping out on me. It will do the tilt function just fine, but when I want it so slide back, it goes for about a second and then acts like it catches on something. There is no visable obstruction in the track, and the motor keeps going, but it just catches on something. I wanted to hear suggestions or past experiences before I dip into my pocket. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Both my belts went bad on my Jetta. The belts were about $18, labor was going to be over $350!!!! Never fixed it. Do you have a certified warranty for bumper to bumper?

Here is a suggestion: Your sunroof has manual open/close feature located on the headliner near the back seats(it's that plastic slotted tab) unsrew that and see if it will open or not, at least you will know if its an obstruction causing the failure.

Have you gotten the sunroof tracks lubricated recently?

Thanks for the suggestions. I did not know that there was a manual feature. I will try that and then see. I have not lubed up the tracks recently, although there is a noticable amount of lubricant in the tracks. That does not seem to be the prob. THanks though guys for the quick responses.
