Suggestions w/ Mounting PS2??

Well, I'd like to mount the PS2 (not Slim) under the glovebox. I'm just wondering how I should go about doing it? I'm not completely sure if I could just drill some mounting brackets into that plastic under the glovebox next to all the wiring under there. Is there another way around it to securely keep some brackets under there, like some heavy-duty double-sided tape? I just figured the PS2 would be too heavy for any type of tape, but maybe I'm wrong. If you guys dont know exactly what area I'm talkin about, theres some plastic box lookin thing way under the glovebox that I'm just skeptical about messing around with, in case its something I shouldnt be drilling into. I think I'm gonna go take a picture of it just so its easier to describe.

I just really wanted to have the system mounted under there because its about the only place thats easily accessible when wanting to switch games/power it up/etc. I didnt want to put it under any seats or run wires through the trunk and whatever else. So anyone got any suggestions? Anyone even have a PS2 somewhere in their car?

too bad you don’t have the slim, it would have opened up a wider range of areas to put it. But I know what you are talking about, but would have have to make a bracket of some sort. Tape is not going to handle it, going over bumps and stuff. Will it fit in the glovebox? maybe with some modfiying you could do it..lol Dont know but good luck with that.

but I still think that under the glovebox will be hairy. You may want to look around for other areas to mount it. If you went under the glovebox however, you could make mounting brackets under the glovebox somehow, or maybe secure it to the metal plate behind the glovebox, that covers the cabin air filters, make like a make shift shelf or something, dunno about clearance, but that's my best idea.

put it inside the glove box.. cut it out and mold the hole for it with some fiberglass. itll look clean and you wont even see it.. dont tape it up, thats ghetto. or put it in the trunk, and get some wire extensions for the controlls.

someone on here had it under the back seat. Well actually it was right above the ^hump^ in the back floor but custom mounted inside the seat (in the middle of the seat....if this at all makes since..lol) The front of the PS2 was flush to the front of the seat....it was pretty sweet looking.

(I'd advise not having it out in the open much....too much risk with theft there. Plus, i see the ones mounted under the glove box just hangin there and it kinda looks ghetto and done "half assed")

Other than that...thanks for all the other comments. I dunno if I'd be down for choppin my glovebox up just yet. That would probably be a last resort. I was thinkin about the security problems, too, with it being mounted under the glovebox, but I got 5% tints, and it would be somewhat hidden anyway, so I dont think people would really see it. I might go check out the dimensions under the seats and see if thats possible at all.

The only reason I wouldnt really want it in the trunk is because if i wanted to change games quickly, I'd have to stop the car, get out and go change it. Plus, would the wireless controllers have that good a signal, to the point where they would work with the system sittin behind the wall of the backseat in the trunk, and still be able to function properly? I'm not really up on how powerful those controllers are. If they do pick up signals through the backseat, that is definitely an option though. Thanks for the comments, guys, keep em comin!. Looks like I may be havin to try out different options from what I first thought of, though.

or mount it in the trunk where the hole in the back seat is. you could just make a custom box for that slot and then u'd have it accessable to the front seats.

too bad u don't have a slim version. My slim is on the back deck right in front of the brake lamp. Fits just about perfectly and the two wireless controllers rest in the lil cup holder type things in the back. Just make sure u have tints lol.

when i hook up my ps2 for shows i put it in the backseat middle arm rest section... standing vertical it fits perfect but theres obviously room inbetween .. thats where i stuff my ps2 games .. its a temporary mod. not something youd like to have there for a long time

its a mod i've thought about...the only problem is that I have a reg. PS2 right now with a harddrive system, so all of my games are on the harddrive. So therefor, I'd have to hook up my reg. "big" PS2 to the car. Plus then I'd have to buy wireless controlers, add more video outs to my tv and hook up the ps2 and maybe a front/rear mount camera...just something i'm not really ready to do right now. Plus when i go to shows, i turn on my TV....most people play dvds or have ps2 on....i turn on my TV and have local tv shows playing (not many people do this) or i will usaully download a bunch of music videos and play them...
