O.K., I put a Dynomax on my wife's 2000 cherokee classic, and am pleased, however I'm not quite sure what I want to put on my 99 3.0Cl. Any suggestions? I want something LOUD!

you can always just not get any muffler....
Leave the exhuast resinator on and go with custom piping from the cat back to the end of the car, and put on any custom tip you want. I'd be loud, look's nice.... Just make sure you don't get too big of poping to avoid backpressure loss...

Im pretty sure thats not legal, and you cant pass emissions without a muffler.:P Anyway, a good way to gauge the tone of a muffler is by the size of the resination chamber. The bigger the muffler, like a magnaflow, the deeper/less loud tone. The smaller more straight through designs like the Apexi N1, are much louder. Dust and Casper have N1 styles, Dust has 3A twin cans, and they both say they are very loud, especially Casper, who has a real Apexi N1. A few members have magnaflow, and they love the stock like, deeper tone. I guess its all about preferences.

If "LOUD" is what your looking for... go on ebay and search for Cherry Bomb mufflers. They are glass packed and are rather small and are LOUD enough to cause ear damage. Well close enough. Heard them on a rustang the other day and it annoyed the hell out of me.

Anyhow, I don't know if this is what you were looking for but just my suggestion for loudness.

catalytic converters are what make you pass/fail emissions. Mufflers only control the noise. ie. the name MUFFLER.

You can run your car without a muffler, it will just be friggin loud. You can also hollow out your stock catalytic converter or get a new highflow/racing cat in order to make it even louder. The cat conversions are subject to your states guidlelines. In florida there are no such things as emission tests, lucky us
