sub/amp question... last 1.. i promise

when you run up amp wiring kit do you run it under the carpet? or over the carpet and under your floormats? If you run it under the carpet, what do you have to remove... seats? door sills? anything else?

Run it under the carpet, no need to remove the seats. You just need to remove the little plastic strip in the door jam, and pull up the carpet.

all i did was remove the door sill, broke all the little things in there so the 4-gauge wire could fit...after that i stuffed it under the big plastic thing that the seat belt is on, then under the back seat thru the corner to the trunk....its easy sailing the whole way...hardest part was breaking the inside of the sill...there are like little door dam things that go onto the white palstic thing under it...broke it all and the sill still stays

no need to break anything the carpet pulls right up easily...

don't forget to run your rca's down the opposite side - it's always safer, and easier to troubleshoot noise problems.

I ran my rca's down the middle, was much easier than running them down the other side!

Yep, there are still other wires on the other side that could interfere with your signal. The middle is usually safer, altho some cars have wires run there stock too. Just make sure anytime a signal wire needs to cross a power wire, does so at a 90 degree angle. There shouldn't be any power and signal wires that are beside each other. Sometimes this isn't as noticable in a car, but trust me - when you lay a 400amp distro feeder across an audio snake - you get hella noise!

i dont get whats so hard about running the rcas down the side. I just did it in like 5 minutes. Do those bundle of wires down the side interfere with the rca signal?

1. Run everything under the carpet for protection looks ect.
2. Run the power wire from the battery through the inline fuse through the gromet on the right side of the firewall.
3. Undo the foot rest and plastic cover on right side of drivers foot well.
4. run wire down the side under the carpet by removing the door sills.
5. Remove the side panels in the back seat tug on it its only snapped in.
6. Run the wire under the carpet untill under the panels then up into the trunk.

As far as the rca's go i would get some shielded ones to eliminate intermittent noise. Running them down the side is fine if you do have shielded ones. If not down the center. IMO the ones in the kit suck so i would get new ones. Also monster cable sells a set with a remote wire on it to make it easier instead of running another wire. Other then that take ur time be patient and dont break any clips.

some amps have direct 4 gauge input so you dont need a spade...i use a spade regardless..they sell these at any local car audio place. shouldnt have a hard time finding one

Hey some of those cheap taiwan kits come with unshielded ones you can never be too sure esp when buying amp kits.
