(stupid) oil question

(stupid) oil question
aite, i finally have my 2.3CL... it has no owners manual, hence why i'm asking this question (just to be safe).
my oil dipstick (the orange top loop) does not have any writing on it. All it has are two circular marks near the bottom... is this to indicate the oil levels, or do i need a new dipstick?
and... where do i put the oil? im thinking that that big unscrew cap on top of the engine is where it goes, and not in the dipstick... i want to be sure thoguh
