This may be a dumb question, but, did you cut the bump stops when you had the springs and struts installed?

I have the 5-way adjustables and have no complaints. And, I have friends who have the "blues" who regret they did not get the adjustables.

you have really stiff springs and pretty cheap struts that would be my guess as to whats causing the bad ride

He could be riding on the bump stops, if he didn't have them cut. If he didn't the ride would be pretty jerky.

Cutting the bumpstops allows a little more travel.
When you lower your car, the shaft of the struts are sitting lower. This causes it to have shorter travel. When you hit a bump on the road, you can cause the shock to bottom out (reach and pass the intended travel). When you "pass" the travel you feel this jerk. The jerk is the shaft fully compressing to a point in which the bumpstop stops the shaft, causing the poor ride (bouncy ride).

There's a fine line in how much to cut. If you cut too much your upper arms may stike the inner fender, if you don't cut enough, you will have the poor ride, (as discussed above).

Now if you slamed your car more than 2"-2.5" cuting the bumpstops is a must, but your ride is going to be hell and you can do too much to help it.

I hope this answers your question.
