I'm thinking about getting neuspeed strut bar also.

Have any of you guys heard of CUSCO?
I know is it very good japanese company for making strut bar. But they only ones they have are for accord and the bolt pattern seems to be around the strut w/ 4 bolts. On the other hand, our CL's bolt pattern is different, (2 bolts horizontally)...right???

The strut bar looks like this, do you guys think it'll fit at all?

If you install an aftermarket strut bar on your car, it gets installed to the same bolts that are holding up your shocks (3 bolts). You would have to get rid of the stock sway bar to make room. I haven't tried it but I'm sure it'll fit ok.

Does anyone know how much of a difference getting an aftermarket strut bar would make? I figure i'm not going to buy a new one if i already have one now for free. I'd think adding a lower sway would make more of a difference than replacing the upper right???

What do you all think?

Well, I check all the shop and none of them has it in stock. It will take them a minimum of a month to order it for me (btw, i'm in hong kong for vacation) Since cusco is JDM, i'm not sure if i can find them at all in US unless i order them online.

I may just go with neuspeed when i get back from vacation.

If you are interested on this strut bar, u can order then on

http://www.takakaira.com/

Find cusco on the left side bar and click on OS (oval shaft) on the drop down menu for our accord 94-97.

It is quite expensive (bar + SHIPPING from japan) and i'm not too sure if they will fit since i've never tried before.

Swaybars aren't strut tower bars.

Swaybars connect one side of the suspension to the other, increasing crosstalk, decreasing body roll, and leaving ride comfort, brake dive, and acceleration squat alone.

"Upgrading" to an aftermarket front strut tower brace will probably increase chassis flex because the stock one also mounts to the firewall. The only thing it'll be good for is looks.

Just get a no name rear strut tower bar from procarparts for 30 bucks! I had a Cusco rear brace on my 2.5RS and it made a huge difference... but the only reason I paid $160 for it was because they were the only game in town. But with H/A cars, they're a dime a dozen.

dcsquirm,

with a aftermarket bar, you do NOT have to get of the stock one.

i have both the stock and aftermarket bar installed.....works out nicely

Whoa man, lay off the coffee!

Open the trunk and peel away the liner on both sides near the back seat. You'll see the two strut towers there. The rear strut tower brace ties them together just like the front one!

Did wonders for solidity on my 2.5RS... I'd say that a rear one makes a huge difference compared to the front one on most modern cars because the front strut towers are so close to the firewall anyway.

HeavyP obviously you do not have to get rid of the stock bar if you add an aftermarket strut bar but would be the point of having two bars? Wouldn't that just be dead weight? Or maybe i'm missing out on something.

Both Autodynamic and Procarparts sell the 94-97 Accord rear strut tower brace for about 30 bucks.

dcsquirm88: I feel having both is good...increased strength....especially since both the stock piece (hollow tube) and the aftermarket piece (cheesy construction) are not that strong

ridinlow: i have the rear upper strut bar from autodynamic....IT SUCKS! It is bent! and it doesnt fit correctly...the holes in the brackets are not aligned properly.

anybody know of a good rear strut tower bar?

thanks fellas
