stripe along car

you know how theres a really thin stripe that goes around the whole car (both sides and the trunk)? well i think that the car would look alot better without it. i just dont think the stripe is that cool. but how can i take it off? i tried using my fingernail but that will take days to get all of it. i also dont want a scratch left when im done. any household products i could use or should i go out and buy something? please help me. i wanna get it off so bad

Hair Dryer...heat it up...take it off...any glue left over get GOO Gone and wipe it off...then wash and wax.

Goo gone is like 3-5 bucks from like a K-mart or walmart.

I think goo gone sucks. I had the 2 thin pin stripes on my jeep and tried goo gone and it didn't do anything. Use a power washer. The hot water will eventually break down the adhesive but be careful not to burn away the clear coat.

I think the pinstripe looks good on our cars. Gives it more definition in the lines.

Mine didn't come with one either. I guess it was the choice of the dealer.

That's funny Rick, all the times I've seen your car I didn't notice it....just thought it was a reflection from your kickass teflon & Zaino shine

In this photoshop thread HERE I'm considering getting rid of my painted on pinstripe this year.

I think it looks much cleaner without it.

It looks so much better without the stripe. Goo Gone does work but you just cant apply it on the stripe you need to heat up the stripe take it off. Then whatever glue is left, use the goo gone.

I was gonna take the pinstripe off but i couldnt put my car in the garage cuz my dad was working in there and it was raining outside so heating it up wont work to good. but i just debadged it. i took off the ACURA 2.2CL and i kept the "A" symbol. it looks so much better already. i cant wait to take the pinstripe off
