Straight Pipe?

If any knowledgable car person would mind clueing me in, I was wondering what exactly is a straight pipe?

no cat, it's when you just put a straight exhaust piece in place of the cat. I have one for a 3.0 laying around somewhere, are you interested in getting one? I may just give you mine if I can find it.

some people also say a straight pipe is a car w/ no exhaust

so, I'm guessing something like that would have no chance of passing emissions? How much HP gain could be expected from something like that?

nope, not enough HP gain to really make it worth it either
