I don't care if anyone thinks differently, but I was reading a thread yesterday about someone wanting to change the sound of the stock alarm system, personally I think is sounds awsome, esp compared to most other cars. Every time I get out and lock it I smile and everyone looks for the sound... it does sound as good as the movies.

fuck the movies... the CL siren is bad ass... i love it so much I bought one for the Alpine alarm on my Accord!!

I know what you mean about people lookin around... its funny... I arm my car and people are like WTF?? lol

im so sick of that damn beep, especially when people are walking by it and they tweak out and walk really fast past it, all the other cars at my school are $400 shitboxes that the kids bought themselves so everyones just like dude your the only one with an alarm haha

 

haha at my school in the sr. lot there is my car..2 bimmers and 2 preludes... the rest are trucks or shit-mobiles.. but im the only one that has a chirping alarm

 

i have a 98 CL 3.0 and when i lock my car, the lights just blink, and if the door is open and i try to lock the doors it will beep twice. Is there a way to make it sound when i lock it? I would love if it could...thanks

 

Check out your owners manual - there's some combination on the remote that turns the chirp on and off.

The chirp sounds like a laser or something from Star Wars.

 

the panic sounds like some old school spaceship arcade game or something i think its tight

 

Keep in mind that there are different tones to the sirens.

The tone on my '97 3.0CL is very different from dajuice27's '98 3.0CL.

I like his a lot better (well before he sold his CL last week).


You can activate and deactivate the siren (chirps) by pressing and holding down the trunk button and the lock button (large one) until you see the little red light on your remote.

 

Ah ha, I have a 98 3.0. My buddy that owns the car audio shop was like yep, it's an Alpine. I asked if he was sure, he said yep - set yours off. I did. He set of an Alpine demo. Same sound.

So what does the 97 sound like?

 

Rick, so does my and your car sound the same, i have the high pitched chirp, its loud too when it goes off, anyone know how to add a sensor to the 97 system?

 

I've got a 97 2.2, so i don't have the nice sounds 98 siren. I was the one looking for a new sound to it.

Mine sounds a little quieter than Dennis' '98. Also, his has a little deeper tone.

See, I thought they were all the same. This is why I said that my factory chirp sounds almost identical to that MP3 that was posted in your thread. All you might need to do is upgrade to the 98 3.0 siren to get the sound you want.

 

It's high-pitched, but not as loud.

So wait, there's different sounds to our alarms? I don't like mine ('97 3.0) much at all so I keep it on silent. The chirps are really loud laser sounding things and the siren, man the siren is deafening and is really high pitched, like R2D2 getting raped or something. Is there any way to change the tone (i.e. swap in a '98 siren)?

 

98 2.3 or 3 seems to be the tone we are all looking for

 

yea it's cool and all, but when some fucker bashed in my rear window the other day the stock alarm did nothing

 

hehe...yeah from a functionality standpoint our glorified keyless entry doens't do a whole lot for ank kind of impacts to the car, glass breakage and what not.

is there a way where we can boost the range of it.....i have to be like within 20 feets or something for it to work.

 

all CL's have alpine systems... just different sirens in some cars...

The siren that came with my alarm has soft chirps for lock and unlock... meaning, they're quiet... but when you set the alarm off or hit the panic it goes from quiet to REALLY loud.

The tone of my alpine siren and CL siren are nothing a like.
