startup problems

I got my 98 3.o in january, bought it certified from a dealer, and yet, regardless of the weather, I can't get a consistent startup. One morning it will start right up and idle around 1200 rpm, and the next day, it will barely "catch," and then idle at like 500 rpm.
What's the deal? I took it o the dealer, the re-adjusted the idle, and it still gives me the same problems.......

This is my frst post, so I apologize for the lack of any profile...

Welcome to the site!

There was a recent thread about hard/inconsistent starts. Unfortunately, it may have been deleted due to our bandwidth problems.

Are their temperature differences on the days when your idle speed is different?

Personally, I haven't experienced any startup problems.

If it's not your idle set screw, have them check your timing. It might be advanced. Another possibility would be your O2 sensor. Just suggestions, hope they get it fixed for you. If it's certified, they have to fix it, but you might have to pinpoint the problem yourself. Their ASE technicians are more like ASS techs. Which dealer did you get it from?

I got it at Bridgewater Acura...:ghey:

They eventually fixed the startup problems....right after they replaced the tranny....UUUGGHHHH.

I hate honda slushboxes.:sqntfawk:

55,000 miles and it needed a new transmission....everything is cool now...

I could be any of the things mentioned above.

But first, does the ignition recall apply to your CL? I know that the faulty switch causes troublesome start ups sometimes. Check it out.

I believe the ignition recall is for the '97s only.
