Starter Noise, Sorta a metal sound
I have a stock 99 2.3 with 61k on it and everytime I start the car I get a metal noise from the starter? I car starts up fine and have never had any problems with that just a crazy bad noise. I really have no clue what it is other than the starter being bad but I am not sure a starter can make a metal noise? Any suggestions anyone? Thanks in advance

yeah the starter will make a metal rubbing noise if its starting to wear out...just becareful, it might not start one of these day. mine was doing the samething but i paid no attention to it and one day i found myself having to towe my car home.

u might wanna change the starter, cause if the starter pawl isnt retracting immediatly which is why its grinding, it will eventually chew up ur fly wheel and then ull have to get a new one.
