my srs light is on and it wont go off do any of you know whats going on with it?
is this common for this car?

 

something wrong w/ your airbags system

yupper...they wont work if the light is on.

 

one of your srs sensors could be malfuntioning or damaged.

 

with the paper clip test.what does it mean =[Use a paper clip to short one side of the connector to the other]?

 

Well Happened to mine...

On mine they replaced the passenger side airbag sensor for free under warranty

 

i got the light too...would fix it but it matches my gauges so well...

 

just called the dealer they told me it means my airbags have been turned off for my own saftey and i would have to pay to have it check/fixed.

 

well the light is on because one of the sensors is telling the computer to deploy the air bags(because of damage or malfunction). however, for the airbags to deploy, two srs sensors have to go off. so when only one sensor goes damaged, the computer automatically shuts off the air bag system for safety. i would definatley get that fixed asap.
