Srs
I'm sure someone has posted a thread about this problem but I searched and maybe I'm doing something wrong. My SRS light has been on since I bought the car 10/03. I'm tired of looking at it and thruout my research I came across a paragraph in a website that the SRS unit has to be reset. Anyone familiar with this can give me some advice on how to reset it. I'm aware where the SRS unit it and I have unplugged it then plugged it back but it wont reset like that. There is a reset connector by the fuses (driver's feet) but I dont know what to do with it.

Found this on another site.
1. bend a paper clip into a 'U' shape to create a loop
2. disconnect the yellow plug in your fuse box under the steering wheel and insert the paperclip into the plug that is now hanging there to complete the circuit
3. turn the ignition on and the SRS light will stay on for 6 seconds, then go off - disconnect the paperclip within 4 seconds after that and the light will come back on
4. reconnect the paperclip within 4 seconds and the SRS light will go off again
5. within another 4 seconds of it going off, disconnect the paperclip and the light will blink twice and it will be done
Going to try this in the morning.

I figure honda and Acura is the same so I went seaching on Honda forums. This is what I found.
Directions for erasing memory on SRS light
1st you need to either buy or make the "SCS Service Connector." I used a speaker harness for and older Honda which you can buy at a local stereo shop such as Circuit City or Best Buy, and cut the wires and looped them together. You can also use a paperclip but that will make it a little more difficult because you have to connect it and disconnect it a few times quickly.
2nd you need to find the MES (Memory Erase Signal) connector which is pictured below: (Click to enlarge)
MES Plug in Fuse box.
**pictures removed at source**
It is a yellow connector with two wires in it that is plugged into the fuse box, unplug it and pull it down. Once you have done that you can begin the process of erasing the memory. NOTE: This will only reset your SRS System if what caused it to trigger has been fixed, Ex: turning the ignition on with any SRS Plugs disconnected, such as pulling your seat out.
1st step in erasing the memory is to turn the ignition off and connect the SCS Service connector to the MES Plug,
2nd Turn Ignition on. SRS indicator light will come on for about 6 seconds then go off.
3rd Disconnect SCS service connector for MES connector within 4 seconds after SRS indicator light goes off. SRS indicator light will come on again.
4th Reconnect SCS service connector the MES connector within 4 seconds after SRS light comes on. SRS indicator light will go off.
5th Disconnect SCS service connector from MES connector within 4 seconds. SRS indicator light will indicate that memory is erased by blinking 2 times.
6th Turn ignition off, and wait 10 seconds. Start vehicle like normal and light should come on and go out like normal. You have reset your SRS light, congrats.
If it does not work the first time try it again, the timing has to be perfect. My first time it took me 3 attempts before it worked, but it did work.

Racking up on my posts. Here info on what paper clip to use.
"You do not have to buy or make the SCS Service Connector. I just took a "Jumbo" paperclip and bent it into a U shape that had the open end prongs spaced the same distance as that of the MES connector sockets. The "Jumbo" paperclip is ideal for this because its thicker and stiffer than the normal paperclips thereby making a perfect tool for this application"

If so then the light will come on again. I believe my car has been in an accident that the aig bags did deploy before I purchased it. The guy simply didn't reset the system.

I see it this way. I always strap the seat belt. If I crash @ 40mph I wont die without airbag. On the other hand If I crash at 120mph Ill die anyways with or w/o airbag.

Got the SRS and Check engine lights come on this morning. Car is running fine. Started it this morning and tried to move seat to memory position 1 and the memory seats are not working. Not working like no beeps, nothing happens. I check the fuse and it's not blown. Anything similar like this happen to anyone here?
1. memory seats not working
2. check engine
