Squeaking climate control

When I put the climate control I hear a continous squeaking noise (similar to the squeaking a mouse makes) . The higher I put the temperature the louder and more annoying the squeaking. What do you guys think it could be and how can I fix it?

mine does it on the passenger side, it's pretty constant. I think there may be a leaf in the fan, or the bearings on the fan maybe going out

Does it vary with fan speed? I had a Volvo that finally burned out a fan motor because the bearing(s) ran dry - or somehing like that. It squealed and screamed depending on the fan speed.

Sometimes it seems that the higher the fan speed the louder the noise. Also, sometimes it seems like then noise stops if I leave the climate control on for awhile, maybe something warms up.

I had a similar noise from my G1 Legend. It was coming from the temp sensor located on the center console. It's basically a little vent with a small fan unit inside which checks the air temp of the cabin . When u turn on the climate control the fan starts spinning and sucks in the air from the cabin. Over the years the fan unit gets really dirty with lint and dust making the fan get out of place and making a very annoying noise.
I got a new unit for about $175 at a dealer.

I'm not sure if the G1 CL has the same temp sensor, but it's worth looking into.

or It could also be a leaf.

Good Luck
Esti

hmmm..... mine makes the same noise, but what does it has to do with the "climate control"?

mine makes that "squeaking noise" when i accerate and when i brake suddendly.... (from the driver's side)

i thought it would be coming from the suspension side...

does anyone else has this prob.?

My squeaking noise is a continous squeak, which is obvioiusly a mechanical problem, and also only occurs when I use the climate control, it also turns off when I turn off the climate control so there's no way it could be the suspension. We have different problems.

Mine sometimes stops when I slam my fist on the dash above the glove box, but I stopped doing this when I finally realized how close I was hitting to the air bag. I didnt want that thing going off. Also new law passed in IL -----It is now illegal to remove your airbag and replace it with some other object----

I heard that if the climate control makes noise, it could mean the belt on the alternator is loose and ready to go out. Worth a check.

im pretty sure the airbags only go off when a sensor in the bumper is tripped or something.
