Spring/Shock help

My current set up is H&R race springs on stock shocks (I know it rides like shit), and I'm gonna get some KYB AGX shocks to replace them. From what I've read on here, the AGX shocks will be a good choice despite the voided warranty. I don't want to get raped on the cost of installation so I'm probably gonna try to do it myself. Since the springs are already compressed compared to the stock ones, will I still need a spring compressor to do the replacement? Also, can anyone that's done something like this tell me how difficult it will be to change the actual shocks once I've taken the assembly out of the car?

I know there is lots of info on installing aftermarket springs and shocks, but I can't find anything about removing aftermarket springs from the stock shocks. Do they even need to be compressed?
