spray painting badges
Couldnt find what I was looking for in the archives
I want to know if I have to sand down the badges before I spray paint them... or If I can just apply the flat black directly to the chrome. (probably not.)
If not, what grit sandpaper should I use to sand...

My guess would be sand them down, and prime them, I would use like 800 grit or 1000 grit. Maybe 2000 afterward to make it smoother, 800-1000 to remove the chrome dip

i did this a while ago and gave klepto some info on it n he did it as well i just washed my car, i might do housings today.. anyways i didnt sand i just primered a coat or two on and put a few coats of black paint and high gloss finish.. the A in back is fine but the front 97 emblem has paint chipped off thanks to the 57 freeway here.. so sanding might not be such a bad thing since my emblem has chipped paint after about 6 months or so

Feeds pigs bacon
When I debadged the Acura and 2.3CL emblems off of my black CL, it left NASTY shadows....which I just recently got off PERFECTLY with a buffer. Buffing is magic.
