Spare Key.

I just got my car and did not come with a spare key. What do I do to get a spare key? I know that the key has a chip in it, correct? Do I have to have a special key to just use to open the door? Or can I just copy the key and use it for only opening the door?

i have the same problem. my car didnt come with one either. but i called acura/honda and they said they are the only ones that can copy it because of the chip. they charge i think about 50 bucks. so i'll probably just do it from them. but i dont think you need a special key just to open the door. unless you have keyless entry, then there might be a problem.

I had a key made at Lowes and don't remember if it even opened the door. I know it didn't start up.

Had to get at Acura - $50 each.

I had mine made at Lowes, and my dumb ass tried starting the car with it. I figured, oh well, at least it will unlock the door.
Then, when I converted over to OBD1 during my swap, I realized shortly after that the ECU I was using did not reqire a signal from the immobilizer: Therefore, I now have an extra key. If the H22ers didn't know that, go get you an extra key made for 3 bucks at Lowes!
