something weird happened...

so i was driving and all of the sudden the radio kinda just shut off for like a second and at the same time, the ABS light flashed for a second too. so i'm like, wtf? the car didnt' stall or anything. so when i tried to turn the AC on, then it happened again. but after that, i wasn't able to duplicate the problem. i initally think that it's an electrical problem maybe the alt/battery couldn't handle the sudden extra load. but my battery is like 3 months old, the car didn't sutter and everything when back to normal except that clock was resetted once.

this happened a couple more times after this. but stopped. one thing i'm wondering about is that i have a car charger just left plugged into the cig lighter plug and the end that goes to the phone is just diggling around. i'm wondering maybe the open end kinda grounded itself to something.

what do you think about this?? thanks

take your battery terminals off of the battery,

scrub them with a wire brush.

Use a spray cleaner meant for batteries.

I have a bottle of it, it comes out yellow.

It could also have something to do with the wiring of any aftermarket

stuff, thats always a possibility.

prob the alt, but check the battery. Take it to Kragen, they'll test it for free.

This same exact thing happened to me as soon as i hit 90k. It hasnt happened since but it was very annoying. I brought it to a shop and he said the alternator and battery were straight. I think its a fuse because you can hear a clicking sound when it happens from the glove box area. I think it will stop on its own though. If u find the answer, hit me up with a PM so i can fix mine too.

well, it happened again and more serious this time. i looked at my positive terminal on my battery and it's really bad. cleaned it out but haven't gotten a chance to drive around.

was your battery terminal dirty?
