Some fun friday night/saturday body work
Was drunk a while back, and clipped my garage door wall pulling in. Took the turn too wide.
Wet sanded down, primed, painting, then clear coating.
Here's the progress so far, sorry for the shitty pics.
Just thought I'd give you fellas something fun to wake up to. The fenderwell is coming out next, to put in my CAI. Clear turn sigs and bulbs are being installed since I'm repainting the bumper anyway. Hope you enjoyed the project pics

The paint directions say 5 mins between coats, I waited at least 10-15 between coats. I let the primer sit about a half hour at a time, sanded down, then sit over night b4 paint.

Do you have a curvy shit-ass driveway like mine? Gotta take an angle then complete the turn when I'm half way in or I'll hit shelving. Center piller devided garage doors suck. So far, I've not touched it once. The idea that our mirrors will break off makes me very cautious. I have a trick though, I line up using the headlamps. If they are aimed at a certain spot on the door, the car will go in without much adjustment. My wife hits her breakaway mirrors alot. If they were like mine, we'd be payin' serrious cash at least twice a month.

Go to a paint store that sells automotive paint and have them mix you up some paint according to your paint code. That plastic-kote stuff doesn't match very well.

It costs me about 15 bucks per can, but it matches almost perfectly. It's a store that's only local to me. Earl Sheib sometimes sells automotive paint. Of you could have a body shop mix some up for you. I don't know if they'd be able to stick it in a spray can though.

That's what I'm telling you, auto part's stores, and even Walmart sell the paint in a spray can. The company is called Plasti-Kote, I'll detail the types I used in my DIY.

I'll get it done tonight after work, and my plastikote, honda black matches perfect. Has the blue and silver metal flake in it and everything. Looks like brand new, cept a few streaks from hurrying that i need to sand and smooth out. The paint, however is a perfect match.
