Rebuilds are usually around $2500 but a new tranny's much more. My first 3 were new but the 4th is a rebuild. It's working fine right now, but I know that won't last. Overall, everything on my car has been replaced at least one except for the engine and suspension. So really, I've spent far more fixing the car than when I bought it. So technically, when someone asks how much I've put in my car, I could say about $16,000 - but that's just to keep it STOCK.

i payed 800 bucks to rebuild the tranny when i fist bought the car everything was included bearings, flywheel, clutch, etc.... cars running great speedometer says 48000 miles around the and its a 98 i bought it with 22000 about 2 yrs ago garage kept supposively. it was in a warehouse in real bad shape and i took her in for 4,500 and started my car. i changed all the sseals on the engine and havent had problems since then.

I bought my 98 2.3cl for 3800 about 6 months ago. Im about to turn over 200,000 still on first everything except throttle cable (go figure it would brake of all things). I cant believe how well the cars held up still runs perfect.
