We deffinitly have our share of techical gurus. Off the top of my head, do a search for posts by Scalbert, MattG or Allmotor in the second gen forum. They know these cars like they know their women

Appologies if you werent mentioned as one of our many gurus. Just through out a quick answer

more gurus are Dustbuster if he ever comes out of MIA, fastvteccl for his NOS and famous confessions of a loser video of him whooping on a camero over and over again, cldriver for his monster motor and power, vxcl for giving everyone the idea with molding the front and rear lip and then being teh first with projectors and also providing parts and getting me hooked into the part sales and retroing, and if you havent seen my woodgrain removal instructions they are 8mb big and before this people would break the middle piece in half everytime

just a few name, oh yeah and then vtecpowersumo, and all those h22 swap guys

do a search for things you want to read about and youll find many people

last but not least i forgot veilside, he was the first CL to be in a magazine and featured and setting the bar for future rides

No offence but I don't give a rat’s ass about cosmetic mods. I want to learn about the CL technically. What are people’s mechanical experiences with axles, transmissions, timing belts, hubs and so forth? I don't plan to race my CL but I do plan to put a lot of miles on her.

then ask when youve exhausted the database of previous threads.

The 1st gen cl was never a popular car especially with the import scene so theres really not many who have done serious work on the car. if you really want technical stuff your prob better off looking for 6th v6 accord forums if you got a 3.0 and 5th and 6th gen i4 forums if you got a 2.x. People with accords seem to dump way more money and time into trying to make their car fast. most of the people on this board realize its not worth it, so aside from some engine swaps, nos, and turbos there arent too many heavily modified 1st gens on this board.

I have searched on many of these topics and found very little technical content. I am also not baggin on anyone. Most forums have a few very technical people that like to work on cars, and I am just trying to see who they are here.

These cars are pointless really to work on esp. w/ the tranny issues so no one has really dived into them. THere are more then a few of us that can give techinical data to you on the h-series, b-series, etc.

Hey guys, ease up on this guy, he's got a great point. Go check out honda-tech or some of the other boards and the technical discussions are abundant. They are practically non-existent even in the 2nd gen forum as I don't think anyone has opened up one of these motors extensively.

From reading post, I don't think you can mess around with the v6 so much. I believe couple of people did superchargers and was unhappy with the results. There been some post of people that did the 6spd and other engine swaps but no specs. The i4s I think is more area where u can explore getting more out it. But not too many people are breaking the piggy banks to explore it. But as you know, once the price of the car drops some more, you going to see more tweaking. I went to check out the rx8 forums (thinking about one), and they don't really do anything at all. I think the most they did was NOS.

there's an abundant of info on the f22 and f23 motors in accord forums..people have been boosting these motors to like 14+ psi on stock blocks

I don't get it. So the 2.3 CL isn't the same as the 3.0 ?????
who said they were different?

I know our CL doesn't have a much bolt-on mods as B-series motor but i believe a lot of ACL member here have a very good knowledge in motorsport and sound...we have lil of everything here.

um, no

Bolt ons, but w/ the tranny problems no one has ever bothered doing any real mods (i.e. opening up the motor and replacing internals, etc)

I was really disapointed when I bought the CL, esp. after starting to restore a hot rod and doing some work w/ bseries motors, etc. I figured the CL would be a good platform to work w/, boy was I wrong, 3 trannies later i've come to the conclusion that there is nothing cost effective for these motors.

and i'm insulted none of you homo's called me a guru, I think I was the first person on this board to do anything :P

If it wasn't for the tranny I would of had a turbo 3.0 4 years ago. These motors can handle boost

been there done that, blew it up

I just have a spare block and head laying around. Current motor is a fully built b16b. Don't think he's got it running yet. We started w/ a b16a, blew it up, went to a b20 turbo, blew it up, b16/b20, blew it up, last I talked to him he had the b16b bought and in but hadn't got it running and was looking for a k20. I need to call him and check on the status.

I just had a few motors laying around a few months back I finally got rid of then realized I still had the b20 and b16 head at my boys I need to go get

I thought a forum was a place to share knowledge. What's the difference if a newbie asks a question for the 2,089,965,288th time, as a forum devoted to the Acura CL, the question can be answered or the person can be directed to the info needed. Most of us don't camp on this site, and we just would like some questions answered.

I have only been a member of this site for about a month & I'm already tired of the assholes on here. I also would like to know the direct answer to SCCATypeSH's question, as I bought my car to drive, not show. The cosmetics are cool, but the technical info is what I'm into.

Just my two cents...

Here's a link to any repair questions you may have. It's also the sticky at the very top of 1st gen threads.

preludesh had the 2nd gen platform based offf 6th gen accord but if you have a 1st gen this is pretty much the only site you need

www.accordinglydone.com if you have a 1st gen cl since that site is mostly 5th gen accord owners...but some 6th gen info is there or can be applied

have fun..don't post until you search...you'll probably get all your answers without posting one question

Quick Reply: So who are the CL gurus??
