the other day i was haulin ass on the fwy (as usaul) flooring it like mad, vtec and all for about 15 (of hard driving) and i smelled something burning, not brakes...i dont know what the fuck it was? anyone else had this experience?

 

I think it has something to do with the exhaust. I get a burning smell out of the exhaust after a good run. Try smelling the exhaust or around there next time, see if it's the same.

 

Usually my brakes smell a little after a hard run. One time a plastic bag melted on to my exhaust piping and that smelled like ass. It was also a pain to get it off the piping.

It could that your are burning tranny fluid. I used to get a funky burnt egg smell from my auto tranny after I sprayed. Once the manual tranny went it the smell went away.

Other than that if your fluids are at the proper levels you shouldn't have a burning smell.

 

sniff the exhaust real hard for like 5 mins just to make sure, ok?

 

i noticed that once i put my headers on and my full exhaust that i smell something burning also. i have to agree with proaudio that it is just your exhaust. need not to worry.
