slotted or x drilled performance noticible?
i'm having cross-drilled slottted rotors (same stock size) put on today (RACTIVE) along with AXXIS metal master pads all the way around. i have the original stock rotors with some cheap pep boys pads now. can i expect the new setup to be much better?
i know they'll look better but will i notice a difference in performance?

i got the rotors and rear pads from nopi
the front pads i got from somewhere that was having a sale and saved like $10 but i don't remember now.
i couldn't really find any place cheaper than nopi and my man is doing everything for $75 so that's not too bad and i'm not outside in the cold banging knuckles trying to pull a old rusted ass rotor off

The Metalmasters will bite harder than your stock pads, but be prepared to wash your rims off more often!
Slotted rotors stay cooler than solid ones, but only during track conditions. You'll never notice a difference between solid/xdrilled/slotted on the street, or even in braking distances.

On my CL I only notice a difference after long periods of hard driving. The rotors won't heat up as much so your braking power will last longer.
But like ridinlow said if you don't race your car and push it to its limit its basically a cosmetic mod then a performance mod.

yeah I agree with all the top...You won't notice a big difference unless you are braking hard a whole lot at one time. Actually, slotted would be better because the cross drilled holes are just surface area taken away from the rotor. That is true if it is the stock sized rotor, which I am thinking it is, and then drilled. It does vent more heat, but it also reduces the strength of the rotor itself. Looks good tho

I think if you do a lot of high speed driving on the freeway...the xdrills do help a lot...they bring the car to a reasonable speed a lot faster.

Check out the Car & Driver article that compared various aftermarket WRX braking systems. They compared stock, stock with aftermarket pads, and various Brembo and Stoptech big brake kits.
Stock with aftermarket pads did just as well as the big brake kits during a 70-0mph stop. Only after 5 or so repeated 70-0 stops did the big brake kits start to show an advantage.
So, pads are the biggest bang for your performance buck and unless you track your car, you're not gonna notice any difference from a big brake kit.
