shortning an automatic shift knob

I just bought anew momo shift knob, and I was wondering if I would be able to shorten it.
ps. the car is automatic

i wanted to shorten mine, but theres that button thing in the middle. maybe you can cut it and shorten the spring?

i did it.

i'll post pix when i take some of the interior all cleaned.

we (me and my buddy) hacked it with a dremel and welded a

97 TL knob to the inside of the tube.

its kind of a male/female with a spring underneath.

we just circumcised the male part a bit.

wasnt too bad, just make sure you cover up your interior with a garbage

bag so shit doesnt fly all over the place

haha yeah its a momo....and no i didnt cut mine. i was thinking about doing it, but said screw it because if i ever sell the car, the people are going to be like wtf?!?!
