Shorten my shift good sir!

Ok, i'm tired of throwing my shifter 3 feet to get my car from gear to gear. I tried searching about this stuff but I think the search engine hates me or something.

I've heard that there are adapters that work with our car that aren't all that spectacular. And I think I read a post a long time ago about someone who actually made a full blown short shift kit for our first gen CL's. I've also heard the prelude shifter fits nicely in our cars too.

Anyone who has any knowledge on this subject PLEASE post I'm in dire need of a quality short shifter for my 99 2.3! I know yall will help me cause you rawk!

Thanks

j-man

search for "prelude short shifter"

i know someone has done this b4 i just cant remember who, and you can also try neidjeb's site, i think it would explain more there if he did, and if you can find is site, thumb throught he members list till you find his name and then click on his "WWW" link

I have the pspec tuning short shifter (got it about 3 weeks ago). It is way shorter up top and it raises the cable creating a shorter throw. It was pricey, but I think it was worth it. Good customer service too. There was a post on here about using a stock Prelude shifter, which is shorter than ours, but I dont remember what gen. and youd have to find one. It would be cheaper though.

it is pretty easey to do...just have to do a little bit of persuading to the mount plate for the shifter

how long ago did you get the shifter blurry?

I've been trying to get ahold of pspec for the last 3 weeks about ordering one but they haven't replied to my e-mails yet and I really want to place an order for it.

Also do you recommend it? is it a well put together kit?

thanks.

block of aluminum that attaches to the shifter that shortens throws a bit...like 30% if that.

Re: Shorten my shift good sir!

On a site called honda-acura.net there's a guy who put a Prelude shifter in his CL, there's 20 pictures on there or something. I drove a Prelude a week ago and it's wayyyy shorter.. the rest of the interior looks like a Civic though (an old Civic) Any recycler with a wrecked Prelude, that would seem to be your cheapest shifter upgrade option.. but I imagine this part would be one of the first to go.

d98clturbo already said that...

the pspec is to damned expensive.

fockers on the prelude sites don't have anything good to sell.

it's pretty buff. it doesn't look like it would break like a adapter. but if has the same throw as an adapter.

dunno never seen one actually made besides pspec and 4bidden ones... but that is about it this one doesn't appear to be the right one or everyone would be after it and it would cost more than 9 bucks.

ask the seller but I think it is either a misprint or something like that.
