Short Shifter Help?

I want to reduce the length of my shifter and its throw on my 98' 2.3, 5-speed including replacing the knob and boot. B&M short shift adapter (94-97 Accord) seems to be popular among CL owners. Can someone clarify if the adapter reduces throw? Do I need a new shifter in addition to the adapter to reduce the overall length of the shifter, and what kind is compatible to the B&M?

DC Sports makes an adaptor and a few others do to. You'll have to use an adaptor since ours are hydro transmissions. The only other way is to cut the shift stick where you want it and rethread it for the knob. The adaptor reduced my throw about 30%
