Welcome! There isn't too much of a difference in performance between the two. I live in the same region as you and decided to go with the SRI.

Hey there's a meet coming up on April 9th. Hope to see you there.

i live in seattle.. u dont have to worry about water getting into your Cold air intake.. lol

if u want low end power or torque'ier response, go for the shortram..

but if u want overall top end power go for cold air

I've had both and trust me if your looking for speed you need the short ram. like legendary said its good for the low end where the 3.0's suck. I have short ram on mine and I have raced and beat some pritty fast rides. by the time your car gets up to the high end power band most races are over cause of the gearing being sow long and there being only four gears. Just recomending the short ram you will get more power from the cold air but it will be in the top end, its your choice.

im not saying cause its brand name...i meant the style of the intake.....

v2 is not a cai.....and its not a sri...it doesnt lose in the low end like the cai....

aem site:
The Science of Air Intake Technology Has Evolved.

The AEM V2 Intake utilizes a dual chamber (using two different diameters and lengths of piping), to create multiple frequency sound waves that help charge the cylinders with air throughout the entire rpm range.

ugh.

search cais have been beaten to death.

imo, get a v2 and call it a day. whatever you do, realize that a great deal of the gains are realized by chaning the filter element.

Avoid the cold air if you live in wet climate. You don't want to hit a puddle and ruin the engine, but if you have the desire for cold air, get the K&N Typhoon kit. Interchangable long and short pipe for the intake. On nice days, run long, on cold wet days, run short.

Have fun. peace, and rember... water doesn't compress.

I had my filter just inches from the floor and I didn't have any problems in the rainy NW. Maybe I got lucky.

Do you keep you filter well oiled? that can make a difference. If the filter is oiled, it won't let water in. With the long pipe, mine sits right in front of the front left wheel, made me nervous, so I got the interchangeble part. I use cold air on road trips when the weather is nice. But if it turns sour, I put the short pipe on and never worry about it. But, I guess you will do what you think is best. good luck.

I like the top end myself, because it's not $200+ and it's more low end. I fear puddles

Wow, drunk posting for ya I like the short ram, for the low end, Just re-read that, and said WTF. Too late to edit that. Oh well drink another one, and smoke another one all. Sorry, go for the low end Short Ram, unless you wanna drop $$$ on a "little more performance"
