Shifting Question

Forgive me if this has been posted, but I searched for it to no avail. i was just wondering what everyone shifts at? I try adn keep it a bit under 3 grand unless i'm really stepping on it. What is the "proper" if any, shift point for the 2.3 CL's? 1st to second and so on...

Thanks in advance!

keep it under 3K to save gas and normal driving conditions

if your beating the shit out of it try and keep under the rev-limiter.

Yea I don't plan on beating my car at all, I need it to last me. Their isn't really an ideal shift plan for the cl is their? I know that in the manual it says like 15 for 1-2, 28 for 2-3 and so on, but i was just wondering what everyone else here usually shifts at or how they go about shifting. My car is completely stock BTW. I'm at the point where I can usually hear when it wants a shift.

Yea on my way home from work today I shifted a bit higher than I usually do and found this to be pretty true.

Also, my car seems to be a bit "shuttery" when getting out fo first sometimes, anyone know what this could be? Maybe my flywheel needs to be shaved down a bit?

shit really? Sometimes its absolutely fine if I let out the clutch fairly slow, but if I let it out quick its shutters like crazy, my whole dash would shake, I guess im glad I found this out before I went out and had my clutch and fly looked at.

Give it more gas when you take off in 1st, mine does the same thing unless I slip it at 1500 or so

X2, always seems like im giving it too much gas, but it will shudder if I don't bring it around 1500.

Rev to 1000x RPM before you engage the clutch, never below that. As you engage the clutch you want to hit the gas pedal at the same rate of speed opposite to that of you releasing the clutch. Make sense?

Practice this enough and you wont have to rev to engage first from a stop. You'll know exactly how much gas to give and how fast/slow to let off of the clutch. At times when i'm not lazy I can fly through the gears from a stop w/o feeling the engagement. My passengers can appreciate that.
