Shaving The Chocha

Hey ima bout to get a 2.2cl 97 in White...

I want to shave the rear emblems that say 2.2 CL and ACURA

I want to ask though if these are just on there with double sided tape or are there also holes behind it?

Any tips, pics, suggestions?

thanks

I believe only the "A" in the middle has holes behind it..the 2.X and ACURA should only have adhesive behind them... someone correct me if I'm wrong

Those emblems are held on with double sided tape. Only the center "A" has 2 holes to hold the emblem.

There are several ways to "debadge" your car. The common suggestion in all ways is to make sure that the emblems (the sticky tape) is warm/hot.

I debadged mine on a hot 90 degree day, and they peeled right off.

I heard people who have heated them with a hair dryer, then ran dental floss or string behind the emblems to remove them. Use "Go Gone" to get rid of the remaining glue.

Give the area a good wax, and it should look good.

Here's mine, rebadged (the "A", "ACURA" and "3.0CL" were removed and replaced with the 2nd Gen "A" [larger] and "A C U R A"):

It fits in the holes perfectly. However, the "A" was designed for the 2nd Gen which has a flat area to apply the "A". Our's has that crease. I simply balanced it on the crease. Turned out ok.
