I seafoamed my old daily driver '89 Civic hatch w/ 150k miles a few years ago and it made no noticable difference.

I did the 1/3 brake booster, 1/3 crankcase, 1/3 gas tank method.

Just pour it in through your valve cover as you would if you were changing your oil (oil cap). It will make its way to the bottem end.

When you do the seafoam: could you take pictures of the 3 places you're supposed to put it in? That'd be great, mmk.

It's real easy, see the link that ajtcl posted.l The PCV valve is the only tricky one, the other is the place you put oil in, where your oil cap is. And the third is your gas tank, where you put gas in

On the driver side firewall, you will see a cannester with a removable lid. The cannester contains brake fluid. On the bottom side of the cannester, you will see several hoses. The booster hose runs from the bottom of the cannester to the side of the intake manifold. Disconnect the fat vacume hose from the bottom of the brake booster. Then step it down to a smaller diameter so that you can suck in the seafoam.

It doesn't have to be your brake booster line, it can be any vacuum line that runs to the intake manifold.

I used the brake booster because it is an easy one to get at on the 3.0. But you can use any of the vacume lines from the intake manifold.

Yeah, I've never seafoamed that motor though. It just went through a full rebuild a little over a year ago and I've only put 5500 miles on it since then.

Some people say they've gotten good results from seafoam with their high mileage engines. It's worth a shot even if it gives you a couple more miles per gallon.

I'm going ot change out my spark plugs and wires soon, hopefully this weekend. I have 65k on my car and I notice rough idling and hesitant starts from 1st to 2nd. I have a 99 2.3 5 speed. Where Should I put the SeaFoam in my trany since we don't have dipsticks for it?? IS it even needed in my tranny at 65k or should I just go through the vaccuum line and crankcase? I'm going to get a drain and fill next week along with an oil change...I'm just a bit scared of throwing the CELS. Any help would be great, thanks!

You could of started a new thread instead of reviving this one.

You dont need to seafoam in your tranny at 65k, and you dont really need to seafoam the vac lines either.

He's fine bumping this thread cuz his question pertains to this thread. You don't need to put it in your tranny IMO. You should be good with the vaccuum lines and oil

I figured I'd bump the thread, according to the "noob guide", thats the best way of going about things...searching them.

Anywho, thanks BlackAck, I'll just be doing 1/3 in Oil, 1/3 vaccuum and 1/3 gas tank. Does this sound reasonable?

Pittsburgh, eh?? Any chance of you heading to the Outdoor game on New Years?? Assuming your a Crosby/Pens/hockey fan, of course. I think i'll be going.

I tried to...i was right on at 10 oclock...couldnt even pull up a single...

Someone else on another messageboard I'm on was able to pull 11 tickets??? WTF???

My guess is youll see them start popping up sooner the game comes...I always do craigslist the day before or day of a show to get next to nothing cost for tickets...checking Ticketbastard every once in a while doesnt hurt either, sometimes they release extras a week before or so. anywho, good luck on the tix...ill let you know if i come across anything.

back to normal scheduled programming...

If your gonna put it in your oil, you need to change it within a couple days. I wouldn't leave it in your engine very long. Also, if you do decide to do your tranny keep in mind its a different product.

hmmm...maybe I'll put this off then, I recently had an oil change not to long ago, but I still need to do a drain and fill for tranny fluid, soon.

Should I wait on changing the spark plugs and wires until i've done the seafoam to my oil and gas??? I've also got a K&N stock filter coming in, I dont have to wait for that do i? Thanks guys.

HOLY MY OLD THREAD!!
My car looked so different before....

You dont put seafoam in your transmission fluid. It will FK it up bad!!
I think i noticed that my car was abit more responsive after seafoaming, but not really sure.

Seafoam makes a tranny treatment, but its recommended to put it in 200 miles prior to transmission flush/drain. I dont think this will work for his 5 speed though know that I think about it. I think its for auto's only.

Also, Guinness... If you plan on seafoaming (i dont think you need it) change your plugs afterwards. The K&N can be installed at anytime.
