I remember hearing something like engine damage in the long run when running Nitrous.
My friend then suggested this guy go turbo and he agreed.
But in the end I think he went LS-Vtech...not sure but I think he had a hatch(civic).

Turbos are "always on" and can be tuned as such.
N2O is usually just used when needed needs to be tuned for all the time use (poor fuel economy and performance with retarded timing). So either than dont run more fuel and less timing or they have to change their set ups every time they want to use it.
Stand alone engine management allows for N2O tuning (more fuel and delayed timing) just when spraying, but most dont take N2O to that level.
Overall I would say they are both equally bad for engines if not tuned properly.

They both have benefits and disadvantages. Both will cause more wear in the engine. Personally both are safe if used correctly. Nitrous is good because it's not always on, and you can limit your usage, but not properly hooked up and problems can rise quickly. Nitrous is a blast, but the bottles getting refilled is a pain and having to hook it up every time you use it get's annoying. But yet it's a great bang for the buck!
Turbos are a blast, there is nothing like hearing it spool up. A low boost turbo kit can be very reliable. The good advantage of a turbo over a S/C is that if you drive around town w/o getting on the throttle the turbo isn't really in use. You can keep boost low under normal driving so their isn't much more friction going on then their would be stock. Turbos are awesome, but costly.
Both are great, but the question is do you want to spend some $$ or don't you. Do you want to have it there all the time or don't you.
I love both, and every car I own or will own in the future has a nitrous kit on it just in case I ever need it. But i'd love a turbo, and when it comes time to getting one that turbo will also have a little nitrous being pumped into it when needed.
I guess my answer is turbo/nitrous kit. You have a bad ass turbo kit and some nitrous there just in case you ever need it
