Rust build-up on rotor

Recently ive been hearing a rubbing/scraping sound comming from my front brakes... i took the tires off and examined the rotors and there seems to be a build-up of rust on the outside edge of the rotor... I scraped some of the rust off to see if it would go away and it did for about a day then i heard the same noise again... dose anyone know what that noise is and how to fix it? And trust me its not the brake pads cuz i just got new ones... thanks...

You might have a rock jammed somewhere in there. That could be causing the noise. The rusting is normal. Shit my rotors get rusty just when I wash my car!!!

Sounds like either the rotor is warped or the pads aren't seat flush against the rotor.

There's not too much you can do about the rust on the rotor's edge . . . except get zinc-plated rotors (I love mine)!

u need to shimm ur rotors. if they are shimmed (little metal plate behind them). u need to get some anti squeek spray, and spray the BACK SIDE of the rotors, let it dry and put back on.

tanke a look at the backing plate (the metal disc that keeps dust from going all over the beartings. on the bottom of it sometimes it gets bent towards the rotors and with the rust that could be your noise..just stick a screwdriver between rotor and plate and pry it away
