Run power cable

Does anyone know how to run power cable through the firewall on a 98 2.3CL? I can't find a hole to put it through? I know someone has run an amp to the trunk by themselves.

I drilled a new hole in the fire wall and used a good bushing to keep the wire from chafing and to prevent air/fire from comming through. But there is the huge stock rubber bushing already there for all the cars wires, you can put a small hole in that(CAREFULLY!!) and run it through there... thats the easiest way. Just please be careful of all the other wires already there, i've seen people in various cars cut 5 to 10 wires trying to get one more in there.

Thanks for the info. I did not want to drill through the firewall, so I just ran it through the door jam. It fit perfectly without creasing the wire.

YOU DRILLED A HOLE IN YOUR CAR!@$? what were you THINKING? all you had to do was slide it through from under the hood to the plastic guard is near the door. then take the guard off and put the wire under that. then all you had to do was remove the plascit casing from the back seat to run it to the trunk. its mad easy fo0.

Thats all I ever do... I install car stereos, I do know what I am doing and I have plenty of confidence in myself to drill a simple hole in my fire wall that can easily be filled later on. Besides, its all sealed up nicely. I like my aftermarket jobs, like stereo's, to look like it came from the factory. I cant live with just having it tucked behind the plastics or whatever... it needs to be done right for me. Besides, I paid $20,000 for this car, only the best work and products go into it.
