RPMS...is this about right?

RPMS...is this about right?

the other day i was driving on highway and started wondering where the RPMS should be

78-79mph stays on 3 on RPM gauge..

is that about right for that speed?

just curious....

i rarely go that high everyday but when i drive to richmond at about 80mph, it is around 3000 RPM

its about right. the auto's are going to lower since they have longer gears.

if you are on flat land, yes, if you are going up a hill or a slope the RPM's will change because the engine will be under a different load

80mph should be right at 3k. 75mph should be 2750, 70 should be just above 2500.
