Rotors 97=98
Are the 1997 Acura 3.0 Cl rotors the same as the 1998 and 1999 Acura 3.0 Cl rotors the same? Because irotors.com has 98-99 Acura CL 3.0 V6 Drilled Slotted Rotors for $195.00 for front and rear! I just wanna make sure they fit!

I saw the ones you're talking about on ebay.
The "buy it now" for $195 looks pretty good for those rotors. iRotors on ebay
For those of you that have installed your own rotors, how hard is it and what kind of tools do you need?

It depends... early 97's had smaller brakes... late 97's had the 98-99 brakes... my 97 3.0 had the 98-99 brakes... I know this, cause once when I went to change the pads on the front, I got pads for a 97 3.0CL... went to install them, and they were tiny! So I went back to autozone, they checked all the numbers and all, and everything was right... so I had him check the 98 3.0 pads, and it was a different number than the 97's... and a different pad... visually at the store, they looked like the right ones (the 98 pads) and I brought them home, sure enough, they fit perfectly.
Check into it more before you order anything... as they are not compatible...

Samething with my 92 Civic Si. All 3 store i went to and bought the pad for the 92 Civic Si was too small. So i took the orginal pad up there and told them to got threw all the honda pads and find one that closes. Found out my Civic Si was was using 97 honda accord brake pads =) more stopping power!

Biggest difference between the '97 & '98-'99 rotors are:
The '97 rotors fit behind the hub. The hub MUST be pulled (or the knuckle split) in order to get the rotors on).
The '98-'99 rotors fit right over top of the hug. MUCH, MUCH simpler installation!
Check out the center of each rotor design:

Are the screws/bolts the only thing you have to take off to remove the rotors?
And if they are the original rotors should I expect the screws/bolts to be really tough to loosen?
I'm considering putting new rotors on when I put my rims back on in the spring, so any help appreciated.

Jamie,
On the '98-'99's: from what I understand, you don't even need to replace the front screws! The holes in the rotor fit over the lugs, and when the lug nuts are tightened, the rotors stay in place.
I only mention this, just in case the screws break upon removal (which they shouldn't).

Thanks Rick
I'd kinda like to do the install myself if I decide to put on new rotors and want to know what to look out for.
I'd be afraid they'd be rusted on there and not be able to pull them off.
