Rework Alternator is it worth it???
I found these on ebay and i was wondering if they were worth the price or can i find someone locally to do it cheaper?? I am going to have an system build out shortly so i will need and new alternator.

This 180 amp unit could be overkill although the price doesn't seem too bad. Maybe figure out what the peak wattage of your system might be, after converting watts to amps and summing up all the RMS ratings of your amps as a starting point. Come up with a factor for your likely peak sound system wattage and compare it to that 105 amps. I found that the stock 105 amp unit was enough most of the time when I had a system. The lights hardly dimmed at all except for extremely bass heavy music. As for capacitors, I've always thought they were a waste of money, especially the ones especially designed for car audio (there are other general purpose units available much cheaper that can be used together)
