Reverse Jolt

Do all our 3.0 trannys engage about one second after we shift to R with a jolt?

other shifting from a complete stop seems to be fine.

A pause/engagement jolt isn't that strange, especially if it is cold out and you just started the car.

Happens to me too when cold. It's nothing to worry about.

ya i do let it warm up,and it does become somewhat better, but see if i keep my foot on the brakes i wont feel it that much but what im worried about is the time, should it not be immediately instead of say one second?

Your foot should be on the brake when going from P-R, P-D, or R-D/D-R. 1. That's safe driving. 2. It's better for the transmission, especially in R-D or D-R because the car should be fully stopped before going from forward to reverse/reverse to forward.

no it is never immediate. If we had a Magneti Marelli sequential transmission or something like that then yes, i would be concerned.
