Resetting The E-Break?? Can I??

Hey, my E-Break seems to be gettin loose and easy to pull up...is there anyway i can re-set it or tighten it w/o taking it to a dealer? is it easy to do?

Some kid told me i have to put the car in reverse, drive in reverse at like 10 mph and then pull up on the E-break really hard to re-tighten it....(sounds like some big bullshit to me...)

Soo is it possible and whats the right way to do it??

You can remove the armrest with a few screws and tighten the cable the proper way.

tighten it likeaaron said.. remove your armerest (actually just the black inner part by puling it, and you may have enough room).. and you will have no probs tightening it!!!

when u pull that black thing inside ur armrest off.. .u should be able to see 3 metal wires... the center one thatz going to the front is the one you have to tighten up....

BTW... 07-12 clicks is normal...

oh ya.. make sure u guys don't over tighten it so ur like dragging on your brakes....

you should jack up the rear end of the car... raise the E-brake to the 1st click and start tightening the nut until there is slight resistance to the rear wheels... (Rotate them with ur hands and feel)
