Replacing front bearings / hubs?????
Replacing front bearings / hubs?????
I’m getting ready to do a front suspension re-vamp soon (new OEMish shocks, springs, bushings). Since my car has 205K miles I figured I should replace the front drive shafts and wheel bearings while everything is apart. Can the wheel bearings be replaced easily without getting new hubs or should they be replaced as a set? From the shop manual it seems like a new wheel bearing could just be bolted on the hub.
Who here has some experience with this…
Thanks!

you do not need new hubs if they are in good condition. they usually dont go bad, only the wheel bearing that goes on the hub usually goes bad first. althought you might damage the hub trying to seperate the old bearing if your using some sort or homemade rig.

Ok let me throw this out for discussion… If I just want to get the hub/bearing assembly ready to bolt on to the knuckle (I think it just bolts up to the knuckle), what would be a good source for it?
Thanks!
