Replacing the Exhaust

I have a 98 2.3 cl prem......i have to replace from the cat back (not the catalytic converter) i need a resonater with the flex pipe and the muffler.....i have two questions.......
1-Is it easy to replace this system...has anyone done it before by themselvs

2-What is a good brand for aftermarket exhaust pipes (not performance, just regular parts) i looked into alot of websites and all i could find is the brand BOSAL...has anyone heard of it?

thanks

I'm looking too.

It seems the best aftermarket exhaust systems that are as quiet as stock all come down to 2 different brands, Greddy sp and apex-i ws. Both kits are listed for a (double check this with other guys on the board) 94-97 honda accord ex but i'm told it will directly bolt up to our factory setup with little to no modifications. The best i've found the greddy kit for is about $500 shipped on www.sounddomain.com and the apex-i ws for $400 shipped on ebay. This sure beats, the 373 dollar quote meineke gave me to replace my cat back with their non-stainless steel system imho. Good luck either way you go! I'm ordering the greddy as soon as i'm done with my nightly postings.

I'm in NJ, so i'm pretty close to you, and yes greddy is performance, but why pay 425 for a cat back setup that gives you no gains in performance when you can get a cat-back that sounds pretty damn close to stock with a couple extra ponies , thats the way i look at it.

also, from what i understand, both these kits are bolt-ons and if you have an hour or tow to spare and a few jack stands, you should be able to DIY. Big plus in my book. btw i just ordered the greddy sp2 system, its a full stainless set and has a resonator in-line with the muffler it cost me 540 ($464 + 80 for 3 day shipping <-- cause i'm impatient), but i could've gotten it for 501 with 5-7 day shipping.

Both of these kits are on www.tornactive.com and i obtained a discount code " 5offrightnow " if you do choose to get one i hope i can save you a couple bucks.

Again, good luck with whichever route you go.

I was quoted over the weekend $300 for a flowmaster with custom bent pipe and dual chrome tips from a local shop. Trying to avoid the bling bling fart can look.

mine is fine, just the pipes pretty much split open. so pipes are about 6 years, muffler is still going strong.

There's a shop here in Austin, TX that has a really good muffler guy. He's got a dual tip flowmaster that he's going to put 2 chrome tips about the same size as the stock ones on. He even thinks he can angle the muffler so it can't be seen from behind the car.

The guy is pretty sure he can bend the pipe for an intake for me also, but I'm not sure about doing that yet. It would cost a lot less than the others though.

I'm not getting mine done until January but I'll post pics while it's up on the lift and on the ground when it's done.
