Replacing CV Joints...Need Help
I took apart the tire and calipers and even the large nut at the end of the CV joint...
PROBLEM IS:
The rotor is lose and spinning but the plate in front of it (the piece holding the studs) WONT come off... I imagine it's pressed in or something but I can't get it off... The CV joint is free and lose but I can't push it back far enough to get it out...
Can anyone help me that's done this before... It's the weekend so I can't get ahold of any dealerships (shop is closed) and I'm at work on duty (military) so I can't leave to go to a store and buy the Repair Manual...
thx

ok u need to take off the lower ball joint. with out that off u will not get it out. just take out the little cotterpin, remove the nut, and bang on the sides of the a-arm (with a hammer), just above the acual ball joint. there will be a little 1/4 inch high pedestal on both sides of the arm on both sides just above the ball joint. DO NOT JUST HIT THE SCREW OR UR FAWKED. if u have to have to have to hit the screw to get the joint apart, make sure u put the nut like 3/4 on just so the castalation of the nut is hanging off the end of the screw by like 1/4". then ud bang up on the joint. hopefully u can get it off. if not. u wont get the shaft out. oh yea and remember to use elbogrease when prying the shaft out of the tranny. which one are u doing? drivers or passanger?

passengers side...It's the easier one since the tranny is on that side (thank god)...
also, isn't that ball joint pressed in? if I take that out, I would have to press it back in correct? I might be wrong, this is the first one I'm doing with this style... Usually it's just a simple rotar that you take off after you take the nut off... Kind of like how our back wheels our... I never encountered this kind before...
but thanks for the help...
