Not that my tranny is out or anything, but I can still hope right?

Do you think the price to do an auto to manual swap will be about the same as and new auto tranny? If so, I just might switch to stick.

Has anyone ever done this swap? I've heard of people doing it before and they say the don't have as much torque as a stock manual (same car).

Give me feedback people. If you say it's not a good idea, give me a good reason not to.

I did it to my '98 2.3 CL. I swaped out the f23 for an h22a4 and in the process converted from auto to 5 spd. The I went to sell the CL took out the h22a4 and left the h22 tranny and put back in the f23 motor. So in the end I had the f23 with an h22a4 5 speed tranny. If your asking opinion if it was worth doing, I would say no unless your also doing an h22 swap. The difference in speed between the auto and 5 spd CL is so little it would not justify the cost or time in my book. You could always sell your CL and get a 5 spd and most likely cost you less than the actual tranny swap.
