So I went ahead and replaced my damaged rear bumper and whoever said that it was only 4 clips is wrong.. there are 5 and those fucking bastards are hard to get out! I plan on making a tutorial once I get my g/f's camera I'll just take pictures where the screw are and this can be a DIY.

The BIGGEST problem that no one had mentioned is there are 4 clips (2 on each side) beneath the taillights. The only way to get to them is to remove the taillights, which I left my tool kit at my parents place since I am graduating in 2 weeks so I'm just gonna do it then. All I did was rip the damaged bumper off and the new one still is on there pretty tight. I haven't driven yet, but I assume it won't go flying off.

 

i thought you had to take off the bumper to get to take off the lights?

 

That's the front... in the rear you have to take off the lights to get to the bumper...

 

So I drove to and from work going about 70 mph and the bumper didn't fly off and still looked really nice. I am still going to remove the taillights to add those clips, but going to wait until graduation until I do that.

I did buy the bumper off of Ebay and it did look nice. There were 2 little "clumps" on one of the corners, but they are so small that I don't really care. I have worse stuff on my car that will attract attention before those blemishes do.

 

sorry for bringing up an old thread, but those 2 clips on each side, are they screwed in, or do they snap in.
also if i had to remove the lights are they difficult to remove and how to do that.

i've got a bumper i need to remove and repaint.

 

The tail lights are easy, I believe 3 bolts each inside the trunk
