Remember the Americans??

Well, i posted a thread a while back about how i was sick of always loosing to the damn american cars. My friends have a 01 mustang gt and another has a z-28 and another has a trans-am. Well with my latest mods i can kick the mustang and the z-28 i beat once but usually we just kinda hang together. As for the pontiac, i'm not sure yet! See, there is hope!!!!!!! Once i get my 100 shot, i'll only bee seeing the fronts of those cars in my rear view!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Outstanding!!

Every hot-rodder hypes up the V-8 "muscle-cars". But what if Honda or Toyota put out a V8 sedan or coupe? Where would the Detroit V8's stand?? Pretty low I'd imagine.

If import manufacturers can put out V6's with almost the same power as american V8, AND have them run more reliably and efficiently. There's no hope for the aged Mustangs or Camaros. Pontiac T/A's are no longer in production...hint. And why would you want a gas-guzzler that you have to work on every two months. I know...I had a Pont T/A...once.

And your Pont T/A not only killed you at the gas pump, but I am sure your insurance bill was not pretty to look at either..

No offense man, but i can almost gurantee if honda or toyota or someone put out something similiar to the american v8's it wouldn't be much better. I'm a big import supporter but the v8's that have been comming out lately have been rediculous. The now discontinued ls1 fbodies were dynoing close to 320 to the WHEELS! that comes out to about 350-360 to the crank which is outstanding. A few of them run high 12's out of the floor. And the new mustang cobra has 395 HP and w/ less then 1000$ in mods people are putting close to 500 HP w/ just a smaller pulley, exhaust, and intake! Which is fuckin remarkable. The gas mileage isn't bad either. My dad just picked up a new corvette and we drove 1000 miles avg about 29 mpg and that's an automatic, the sticks avg a little over 30 on the highway, my CL has never reachead anything like that. Don't listen to myths is all I say. And people say they breakdown and you have to work on them alot. I don't know anyone w/ a newer camaro or mustang that has had anymore problems then i've had w/ my CL. There are always bad cars out of the factory, but most are generally good.

Very true. I'd love to get a Cobra, but I'm only allowed to have one vehicle and there are too many snow days here where rwd just wouldn't work.
