Relativity & Dreams

my dream, to have a non-button style shift in a 1st Gen CL.

this will mean taking a later model 4AT TL shifter gate + shifter and

somehow putting it in the place of the conventional up/down button

shifter that the 1st Gen uses. Time will tell, fitment issues shouldn't be

major, as they weren't on this Accord

the size, relative to my subwoofer enclosure's size compared to my used 540i muffler.

oh snap you got your hands on one.. how much did that run you? i was thinking of just doing the hybridnrg method of changing to a momo shifter and a boot instead of doing this. Are you gonna make the +/- do anything like that guy with the honda did?

I helped dragon buy his, and all I have to say, is the helm's is the best $50-100 you'll ever spend. I have the 2.2 full body manual, and the 3.0 additive, and I have no more major install questions. Helms > u

I tried the shifter. The wiring is going to be a bitch. I may open up my console again to see if I can do it.

Is that a 98+ Accord up there? If so, that's why it was able to work. Fitment isn't a huge issue, just need to raise up the shifter an inch or so. The linkage is different, but that's not too hard to fabricate.

The thing is, our shifters have a sliding mechanism that controls for the electrical part. So you can't just rig up the linkage by itself. It seems to activate solenoids or something at the same time a gear is selected.

No, the Accord, did not use that shifter. The Accord did not have Sport Shift. And the first gen TL shifter will not fit either. There's a long ass thing that's behind the shifter. I'm not possitive though that it won't fit.

Ok, disregard my first post. I thought it was the 2g TL/CL shifter you were using. Apparently I can't read.

95-98 2.5 TL 4AT.

it was only 30 bucks, so if it doesnt fit... o well.

i wonder how hard the fabrication process would be.

yea...its just a pushdown...but i like the design/looks of it. lol...I actually posted the pict thinking someone would say something about the CF...

"no more CF talk!" or somethin...lol...just cuz everyones gettin sick of talkin about CF...lol

But anyway, yea, it just pushes down. I acutally had to get it because the OEM shifter didnt allow the TV to pop out. I donno, some think it looks Ghey because it looks like a stick, when really its an auto...but i donno..i like it.

its different, my only concern is that it might be loud.

i will definately lose power. i am getting my full exhaust done as soon as the

car is all dampened up. Top speed SS headers, wilp99's cat (testpipe/o2mod),

magnaflow resonator, and the 540i muffler. I plan on using a couple other parts

from cars other than the CL, and a few outside the Acura/Honda family.
